On this day, I wish all of our readers well. I hope you have a joyous day with your loved ones!
It is remarkable to me that Christianity’s sacred stories have been foundational for so many, including myself, these past 2000 years. These stories, and the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth have motivated many of our great leaders…inspired the building of schools & hospitals, of homeless shelters and childcare centers…and moved many to create of places of love and healing to serve those who have been marginalized by society.
Personally, it is these stories, and Jesus’s teachings which motivate me to work as an Interfaith Communicator; and it is because of this that the Buzz Around works to bring all people, no matter what their personal or religious understanding, into the conversation of celebrating what our communities are doing right in this world!
Your Buzz Around is here to spotlight the good in all of us .
Our civilization depends on us respecting, listening to, and caring for our neighbors… all of our neighbors. This is so very important in our diverse democracy that the United States prints “E Pluribus Unum” ( Out of the Many, One) on all of our currency.
To further explain the Interfaith Concept, here is a quote from the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization:
“First, we must find concrete ways for individuals from different segments of society—Democrats and Republicans, Jews, Christians and Muslims, urban and rural, citizen and new immigrant – to engage each other respectfully, sharing hopes and fears, and working collectively to realize our common values and ideals. We need not agree on all matters of substance, but we do need to listen to each other carefully, share our perspectives humbly, and together develop an ethos of care and consideration.
“Second, we stand firmly against all forms of bigotry and bullying in our homes, schools, houses of worship, and civic and political organizations. The quality of our democracy depends on this: that the rights and freedoms of minorities and those marginalized are safeguarded and honored. There can be no genuine movement forward without vigilant resistance in the face of racism, xenophobia, Anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, sexism, misogyny, or any other form of hate speech or acts of defamation or violence.” (GBIO.org)
Interfaith means having confidence in our own beliefs and finding truths within our beliefs that will support a loving and respecting all of creation… creating an atmosphere “of care and consideration.”
So in the atmosphere of care and consideration, with peace in my heart, I wish all our readers a Happy Easter. I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful day.
