Steve Bruce Smith was born in Whitman, MA in 1954.
He got his first drum set at the age of 2, and played in his first band at the age of 19. Steve attended Berkeley College of Music.
He was the drummer of the popular rock band Journey. Steve produced 8 albums with Journey including the album Escape, which includes the song Don’t Stop Believin’.
