Historical Tidbit: Using an Ice Box in EB

“In the ‘40s, my family HAD one of those old refrigerators!! Ours was pale green. Every other day Henry McCordick (not sure of spelling!) would come to the house with a big block of ice held in a large claw and put it into our fridge.
There was a drip pan underneath the fridge on the left-hand side. My father would empty the melted ice every night when he got home from work! We were so thrilled when we finally could afford a white electric refrigerator that my folks bought at Forsberg’s in Campello. Years later I disposed of that old green fridge in the E. B. dump! Should have saved it for an antique!!”
