Captains Wives: Women at Sea in the 19th Century at Old Bridgewater Historical Society

Captain Laurel Seaborn,  Adjunct Professor at Salem State University, and Co-Founder of SEAMAHP (Seafaring Education and Maritime Archaeological Heritage Program) gave an extremely interesting talk at OBHS on Wed, Feb. 22. Captain Seaborn spoke to a full room, about how 19th-century captains’ wives domesticated their voyaging space, based on her years of researching their personal journals and the artifacts they took with them.
