Our Buzz Around team is a unique crew of folks dedicated to sharing good news and working with our marketing partners.

J_OBrien (1)Janice O’Brien ~ Though originally from the Cape, Janice, and her husband Steve, raised their 2 children in the Bridgewaters’. She has built a career in publishing and marketing. Janice is a Svaroopa® Yoga instructor and holds many different certifications in alternative therapies. In her free time, Janice enjoys hiking trails with her dog, Colby and working on her 236 year old home in West Bridgewater.

 

 

5x7StacyStacy Rancourt ~ from Halifax, 3 year member of the Buzz Around Team.  Mother of 3 girls,  blogger,  Reiki Master, and author of the book, The 31-Day Self-Love Challenge.  Some of Stacy’s interests include writing, reading, line dancing, photography, health & wellness, being out in nature, and discovering sources of inspiration that help her learn and grow each day. A Buzz Around reader since it first began, Stacy finds it to be a great start to her week,  reading about the good news going on in her town and learning about the upcoming events. Stacy tells everyone she knows; she is honored to be a member of the Buzz Around Team, helping to spread the good news, connect our local communities, and to encourage the growth and support of local businesses.

Jill Silvia ~ Lives with her husband Jay in Bridgewater for more than 20 years. They spend their time gardening, hiking and attending local events. They also enjoy sightseeing and exploring our regional history.  Jill joined the Buzz Around team in September 2015, and has been a fan of the newsletter since the beginning. As a life-long Bridgewater resident, Jill loves local history and finds great joybringing that information to others. Some little known facts about Jill: she can recite the alphabet backwards in less than 5 seconds, can perform “Cups” (from Pitch Perfect), and she keeps a series of bins in her home to actively support our community: books for our libraries; clothes for our churches; scrap materials for Bay State Textiles (up to 95% of clothing/shoes/linens that are thrown away can be reused/recycled);
yarn for a local group that makes clothing/blankets for sick/underprivileged infants; towels/blankets for animal shelters/veterinary clinics; small household items for Big Brother Big Sister; coupons for rehabilitation, they are provided to a counselling center that helps rehabilitate adults by teaching life skills, how to care for themselves and how to become self-sufficient; and box tops for our school systems.  Maybe you’ll see her… always buzzing around town!

Betty Bright LipsBetty Stirling~ Graduated EBHS Class of 1954; Brown University Class of 1958.  Worked for 36 years at Draper Lab in Cambridge, MA, as writer/editor/proofreader.  Betty also holds a Business Management degree from Fisher College,  attained on her  50th birthday. She celebrated her Golden Wedding Anniversary 2014, before her husband passed away the following year.  Betty has 3 grown daughters,  and 8 grandchildren, one of whom passed away at age 5 1/2 from cancer.  She enjoys many hobbies; including playing baritone ukulele, and weekly get-togethers with old friends/classmates in E.B. A little known fact about Betty is she still has her motorcycle license.
