East Bridgewater Resident to Walk 18 miles in the Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk in San Diego, CA

East Bridgewater Resident  Patti Chase to Walk 18 miles in the Out of the Darkness Overnight walk in San Diego, CA.

On May 20th, Patti Chase from East Bridgewater, MA, will be walking 18 miles, through the night, in the Out of the Darkness Overnight Walk to benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), in San Diego California.

In 1990, Patti tragically lost her husband to suicide. This traumatic experience has caused an unimaginable amount of heartbreak for the Chase family, and left an invisible scar that any family that has dealt with this issue will understand.

Every 40 seconds, a life is lost to suicide, causing immense pain for the lives of friends and family members of the victim. The AFSP was created in 1987 by families and researches who believed there were too few resources to prevent suicide in our country. Today they are a leading non-profit organization, who develop new education and prevention initiatives designed to reduce the loss of the life from suicide.

Patti has a personal goal $1500.00 and any contribution benefits the work of the AFSP.
